My plan, to post pictures at least every other day until I get caught up to the current day. That's a LOT of pictures. FYI, many of the pictures are only for documentation. They simply show the work from different angles or at different times of the year and are not necessarily to document any substantial work, only change. Many pictures will show up several times as I work on certain sections and document the work by way of before-and-after pictures.
So, here we go. Blogonauts...Blogonaters?... away!
This first set of pictures show what I came home to after being away for nine years; my grandfather's health is slowly weakening, prompting my return. His health also prevented him from maintaining the yard. No matter; he and I have VERY different visions of what a front yard should be.
Yep, your typical boring suburban front yard. I will have a only few updates of this, nothing substantial. They will only highlight the volume of pruning that needed to be done. The real work on the front will not happen until I finish the back, but I do have some really simple changes in store before spring arrives.
Obviously, waaay overgrown.
The area to the far left of the house in the top picture.
View from the road, to the left of the property line, the trees acting as a border. The storm drain in the bottom right can be seen in the top picture to the bottom left.
Wow, that was a lot of pruning. FYI, this actually happened two months after the top set of pictures; this sort of time dilation will show up often. Sadly, I was not as thorough with the pictures as I am now. The pruning pile, ultimately, was HUGE. I'll try to find the pictures. I'll post pictures of how quickly all of those plants have grown back. Talk about resilient.
That's if for now. See you tomorrow.
