Can't be helped. If I want to get any more work done in this spot, the fence must come down. There is just too much overgrowth to fight. And the chain link fence on the other side just keeps getting in the way. And too much nature in-between, all tangled up. The entire project has been a series of mini projects that lead backwards. In order to get this done, I, first, have to do that, but, to do THAT, I have to do this...and so on. Oh, well, it definitely keeps me busy.
Okay, the slats came down first. My grandfather was...IS...obsessed with privacy fences. Don't understand it myself. I believe in getting to know neighbors

I had to dig up the shrub and the fence post. That fence is useless now. It's so heavy with the shrub growing in it that I can barely drag it. Not sure how I'm going to dispose of it.
I found FOUR french drain pipes in this one spot. I can only account for purpose of three right now.
The arrow is pointing to the hole from which the metal post came. What a pain. Why it has that chunk of concrete sticking out of its side is beyond me. Awkward to dig up and awkward to carry since it's so unbalanced.
Just some of the general destruction in which I had to engage. I would prefer to be called 'Godzilla' from henceforth.
Hmmm, at what is that arrow pointing? Would you believe that it's a tree. Yes, a tree grew between the fence and the corner of the house. It's upper branches were starting to interfere with the satellite dish. Growing in such a restricted space forced it to grow very straight. Makes me wonder if there is a technique in there to commercially grow trees to be perfectly straight.
I'm tired.
