Finally got all of the urbanite moved to the final location. Phew, what an ordeal. The wheelbarrow was a lifesaver. It continually amazes me how the tools that my grandfather bought YEARS ago are now benefiting me. The shovels, for example, I remember when I was ten; they looked old then. Honestly, I couldn't even guess at their ages. Talk about getting value for your money.
In the above image, notice how thickly the grass has already grown in. Lawn grass, as I once read, the preferred plant of Satan.
I've gotten the first layer down for this tier. This upper section will need the greatest volume of fill dirt.
Because of the slope and the need to build up this end, I'll have to get creative with the terracing. I haven't decided what this 'island' will become, but I do like the organic look of the concrete paths.
The asparagus is growing nicely. Hope they live. It takes two to three years before they are ready to harvest. This is the teardrop bed on the upper section of the first cross terrace.
I couldn't take it. I had to start clearing out the area next to the storage shed. It's overgrowth was just too annoying.
Suburban Hermit of Fayetteville, signing off.
