It's been a few days. Because of time dilation, I don't remember why. It may have been raining, which I believe because of the way the soil looks. From the pictures, I know that I scored some free fire wood from a craigslist ad. I'm going to bury them in the beds. They will slowly rot and act as sponges, nutrient sources, and temperature regulators.
I have decided that making the terrace's retaining walls parallel with the house and fence to be a mistake. Diversity is served better by making the terrace leading edge follow a curved path. The curving face will have different exposures to the sun, creating microclimates and increasing the odds for bio-diversity. Plus, it's more visually interesting and just plain sexy. Who doesn't like curves? I ask you.
These pictures are to show nature's forces at work. Note how the cinderblocks are being slowly pushed outward simply because of the build-up in the garden.
That's it for today. Will post more soon.
